Milestone Navigator

Worried about something specific: talking, walking, hearing, play? Pick the worry, answer a few plain questions, and get a clear, research-grounded next step, whether that's genuine reassurance or exactly what to say when you call.

How this works

Every path through this tool is checked against a set of published red lines, like not walking by 18 months (AAP motor-delay guidance) or caregiver concern about hearing at any age (Joint Committee on Infant Hearing). An automated check runs on every update to this site and enumerates every possible path: if any answer pattern that crosses a research line would land on a softer result than the research supports, the update fails and cannot ship. The tool can be more careful than the literature; it is never allowed to be less.

Loss of skills a child once had is treated as the most important observation at any age, in every category. And hearing is deliberately different from everything else here: your concern alone is enough for a hearing test, with no watch-and-wait step in between.
